'Finding Balance'

A symbol of poise and balance, the beautiful flamingo is often seen effortlessly, standing on one leg. 

I chose to paint this incredibly beautiful bird because of its symbolism and was it represents. 

As a flamingo ages the colours in its feathers develop a rich pink tone due to the food they eat, with age comes a striking beauty.

This flamingo painting was created over several weeks by building up countless layers of fine detail and glazes to build tone, depth and texture. .
