'Perseverance'

This magnificent painting of an African lion was inspired by the beauty of this big cat.

Painted by well known, Irish wildlife artist, Steven Farrell.

The artist chose this image of such a majestic lion specifically and chose to use a rich colour palette to communicate a sense of grandeur and self-assured power. 

This painting was started and the artist spent several days on it before deciding to paint over it and start again, a difficult decision because of the amount of work he'd put into this lion painting but he persevered - believing the decision he made was the right one and now he's more than happy and extremely proud of the result of his second ever lion painting. 

This lion painting was created over several weeks by building up countless layers of fine detail and glazes to build tone, depth and texture.

This painting would make a perfect statement piece and is sure to be a conversation starter. 'Perseverance' would hang perfectly in a stylish home and enhance any interior.

This painting took almost 100 hours' to complete.
